School Garden

With the invaluable help of the Killasmeestia Tidy Towns Committee we have set up a school garden. It is a fantastic opportunity to learn about where our food comes from along with learning about horticulture and the importance of nature in our lives. During the good weather we planted fruit, vegetables and some plants. We have also painted the boxes to make our garden colourful.

The children are currently growing different vegetables and plants in their classrooms.  The children are learning how to take care of the plants as well as learning about what plants need to grow. We hope once these plants are big enough we could transplant them into our school garden.  We are going to have a great selection of plants and vegetables in our garden in a few weeks.
