Music Generation

Picture
The school takes part in the Music Generation Choral Programme. Music Generation is Ireland’s National Music Education Programme, funded by U2 and The Ireland Funds. It aims to help children to access performance music education in their locality.  Nuala Kelly visits the school each week to work with Third to Sixth class.  The school often takes part in concerts to showcase their musical skills which have included singing in the National Concert Hall in which the pupils got to sing with a full orchestra.  The pupils were singing a suite of songs that was written and composed as part of Music Generation.   Recently we sang in the Abbeyleix Christmas Fair in December 2018.  We are continually building our repertoire of songs and cannot wait to perform at our next concert.  We have a concert coming up in The Heritage Hotel, Killenard on Wednesday 19th June.  We are going to sing a large selection of songs which we have been working on in school.
