Shanahoe 2-2 Killadooley 7-9 Division 5 Girls Football Championship 2025

Our girls had an amazing run this year in the Cumann na mBunscol Football Championship. Through it all they showed grit, determination and solidarity. Their sportsmanship, teamwork and friendship shone through and was a fantastic example to all the children in our school.

In September 2018 for the very first time we entered the Cumann na mBunscol Gaelic Football competition.  Both our girls and our boys played. We were delighted to have Colm Begley come to teach the Fifth and Sixth class the skills involved in Gaelic Football to help us improve our prowess on the football field. A big thank you also goes to the team mentors Mrs Smith and Mrs  Doyle who were in charge at all the matches.

Both our girls and boys did very well during the competition and reached the semi-finals.  The boys even managed to get into the final in O'Moore Park in their very first year in the competition.  They played with great heart and skill and throughout the match they never gave up.  We are so proud of them for reaching the final in their first year playing Gaelic Football.
