Active Home Week
Normally Active School Week would take place at this time of the year however this year that is sadly not possible. So the Active Home Week Challenge has been set up. According to the World Health Organisation children and young people need at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. The aim of the challenge is for every child to do at least 60 minutes of exercise each day for a week. You can keep track of the activity using the chart below. Lots of ideas of how to keep active and more information about the challenge have been included below. Also included below is the Daily Mile at Home Challenge which could be completed as part of the 60 minutes of daily activity. We want to see if you can complete a mile every day. 2000 steps equals 1 mile.

March 18th updates
Dear Parents,
Suggested work and learning activities have been given to all children on the 12th March. Most children will be aware of the school routine and will be able to follow that.
Junior infants to 2nd class received activities in worksheet form on Thursday 12th to cover the two weeks. Please encourage your child to read every day. The 3rd and 4th class teacher will be in touch with her class through Class Dojo and there is a link in the parents section for 5th and 6th class work. We have also put up ideas for extra work and exercises which the children can partake in. For the younger children try to read with them every day and talk about what you have read. Remember to follow the social distancing guidelines as detailed in the Department of Education guidelines.
The school building and grounds will not be open during these two weeks.
Best wishes for the good health of you and your families.
